Behavior Modification

Unlocking your pet’s true potential with proven, humane techniques approved by veterinarians.

Behavior modification is available for issues outside the scope of training basic skills. Training focuses on specific behaviors like coming when called, sitting politely at the door, touching a target with their nose, and walking on a leash without pulling. When it comes to changing behavior, training alone is often not the answer.

Behavior modification targets behaviors such as anxiety, aggression, separation disorders, noise phobias, fear of people or other animals.

Behavior modification involves:

  • Providing a holistic approach that considers not just the observable actions but also the underlying emotional states influencing those actions.

  • Teaching you to interpret your dog’s body language and behavior.

  • Implementing changes to support the behavioral modification process.

  • Changing behavioral and emotional responses and more specifically, how your pet feels and acts.

  • A step by step plan to achieve your goals.

  • We do NOT use e-collars! Quick fixes such a e-collars only serve to suppress the outward behavior, they do not change the emotional state in the direction you need it go. These tools can increase anxiety and fear resulting in more behavior issues or an escalation of the original issues. In addition, they are simply not needed in training.

“In the soil of the quick fix is the seed to a new problem.” ~ Wayne Muller
